Description
Of flattened globular form, the gently raised shoulder rising to a tall cylindrical neck with a galleried rim, and set with a mammiform spout terminating in an upright nozzle. Finely painted in underglaze blue on either side with a pheasant perched upon rockwork amidst flowering peonies and blossoming prunus, divided by sprays of lingzhi fungus and lotus issuing beneath the spout. The shoulder is encircled by a band of stylised ruyi heads, repeated on the raised collar surrounding the spout. The mammiform spout is further decorated with ribboned lozenges beneath a band of four ruyi heads, while the neck is painted with a band of upright lanceolate leaves below the rim.
