The scene shows Procis dying in the woods, hit by an arrow of Céphales, the scene being based on an illustration of S. Le Clerc for Les Métamorphoses d'Ovide en rondeaux by Isaac de Bensérade (1676) (see added image).

- The cup in excellent condition, with minor normal superficial wear.
- The saucer with a hairline of ca. 7 mm and a refilled chip of ca. 2 mm to the rim.
