Description
A fine blue and white saucer dish, pan, with shallow rounded sides rising to a broad, flat everted rim, finely painted in underglaze blue with a solitary crane standing upon one leg atop a rocky outcrop beneath the spreading branches of an ancient pine tree, accompanied by flowering lingzhi and bamboo, with distant rockwork and stylised clouds completing the tranquil landscape. The central scene is enclosed within a double ring, while the broad rim is decorated with a continuous scroll border reserved in white against a blue-washed ground. The exterior is painted with alternating flowering sprays and leafy branches above the foot.
