Made for the Batavian market with the arms of Harmannus Laurents Discher, a native of East Frisia, who held a significant role in the Dutch colony of Batavia under Governor-General Gustaaf Willem van Imhoff, surrounded by an inscription reading 'Ter gedagtenis van Harmannus Laurents Discher, Hooft van Commissarissen en Prauw-voerders op Batavia A. 1749'. ('In Memory of Harmannus Laurents Discher, Head of Commissioners and Shippers at Batavia, dated 1749').
