Condition: (UV-checked)
- The yellow and blue tile with chips along all rims. Possibly slightly reduced on the right handside. Minor superficial wear.
- The round tile with superficial wear and small chips around the rim.
Provenance: The collection of Piet Swimberghe, art historian and author of various works and articles on the subject of European pottery.
These tiles were produced for the castle of Breda, ca. 1535, constructed by Hendrik III van Nassau. They are usually attributed to the Antwerp workshop of Guido Andries.
