A pair of Dutch Delft figures very closely related, forming man and wife, is in the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston.
It was acquired through the purchase of the collection of famous French collector Gilles Ephis in 2012.
The
figures have the same dimensions and are unmistakenly coming from the
same workshop. The yellow ground color does clearly distinguish the
"lonely" Chinaman from the pair, and makes it a highly unusual example
of Dutch Delft chinoiserie.
