Provenance: A private collection in the province of Friesland, The Netherlands.

It is very unusual to find blue and white brushpots in this style with added highlights of underglaze copper-red, however one example in the collection of the Palace Museum, Beijing, is illustrated in Chen Runmin, Qing Shunzhi Kangxi Chao Qinghuaci, Beijing, 2005, no. 222.

Condition: (UV-checked)
- Generally of very attractive appearance, with a bright and shiny glaze.
- A superficial ca. 5 mm chip on the glazed foot.
- Numerous small chips to the unglazed foot.
- A stained star-shaped hairline on the base, slightly visible on the inside as well.
- Typical minor superficial wear and negligible baking flaws throughout.
