Un crachoir en faïence de Delft bleu et blanc à décor aux scènes de la récolte de tabac, 1ère moitié du 18ème

The upper rim decorated with scenes showing enslaved black men harvesting tobacco and rolling it up on one side, while the other side shows the owners of the plantations or other wealthy merchants, smoking the tobacco. The body also showing scenes from the production process. A highly interesting piece in both the field of tobacciana and Delftware collections.

Condition: In excellent condition with a few very small chips on the rim, surface crazing and minor baking flaws. The foot rim with an 8 x 5 mm surface chip.
