An unusual French maiolica albarello of waisted cylindrical form. Lyon, 2nd half 16th C.
Condition: intact, unfortunately with a baking flaw in the form of an indentation.

Provenance: Ex-collection John Philip Kassebaum, Honorary Curator of Ceramics at the Helen Foreman Spencer Museum of Art at the University of Kansas, whose collection was regarded as the foremost private collection of ceramics in the USA.
