Manjushri shown holding a ruyi scepter and seated on a Buddhist lion, the bodhisattva is shown seated on a double-lotus base set upon a large lotus leaf draped over the back of the animal. The figure wearing layered robes and flowing celestial scarves, and the hair dressed in knotted plaits trailing down on either side of the shoulders and pulled back behind a diadem centered by a flaming pearl. Early to mid 20th C. A slight firing crack to the base. Size: ca. 40 cm tall Provenance: A private collection, Antwerp
