Bai Xueshi (Beijing): Guohua painter. Began painting on his own. Later studied with Liang Shuping. After 1949 traveled widely in Chna, then taught in Beijing Fine Art Normal College. 1964 taught basic painting in Ceramics Dept. of CAAC. Decorated Beijing Hotel. 1982 associate professor of CAAC. Media include oil painting, woodblock printing and sculpture.

Hou Dechang (Huixian, Henan province). Guohua painter and calligrapher. Trained in CAAC, where he later taught. 1974 collaborated with Bai Xueshi in landscape of Great Wall. 1977 did calligraphic inscription for Mao Zedong Memorial Hall. 1982 his landscape was exhibited in Paris Salon. 1986, 1988 solo exhibitions in US and Singapore.
