There is an inscription by Zhang Xiaoruo 張孝若 on the bottom of the reticulated stand.

Zhang Xiaoruo 張孝若 (Feb. 08. 1898 - Oct. 17. 1935), courtesy name Yizu, was born in Changle Town, Haimen, and was the son of Zhang Jian. He studied in the United States and received a bachelor's degree. In 1912, he served as manager of Huaihai Industrial Bank. From 1923 to 1924, he travelled to various countries in Europe and the United States. In 1924, he was appointed minister to Chile and refused to resign. After Zhang Jian's death in 1926, he succeeded him as chairman of Dasheng Cotton Mill and other enterprises and president of Nantong College.

- Generally in very good condition, with some small minor superficial dents to the rim.
- Three gold granules of the dragon relief design are missing.
