- Acquired by the current owner's grandfather from Yamanaka & Co. in London on October 13, 1923. Accompanied by the original purchase invoice. Lot 170 from our sale (Chinese turquoise-inlaid parcel-gilt bronze sword, Zhou) was also purchased on this invoice. (by repute)

- Generally in good condition, with some normal wear and nice green patination.
- A few superficial dents, probably due to casting or rust removing.
- A few section with green patina overpainted.
