The plates read top to bottom and left to right as seen in the photo:
- Top left: Onse Lieve Vrouw Tot Kevelaar, which can be translated as Our Lady of Kevelaer. Kevelaer is a Catholic pilgrimage location in Germany. 
- Top right: Zyn Armoe, which can be translated as His Poverty.
- Bottom left: Den Doop, which can be translated as The Baptism. This refers to baptism as one of the seven Catholic sacraments. 
- Bottom middle: Het Huwelijk, which can be translated as The Marriage. This refers to marriage as one of the seven Catholic sacraments. 
- Bottom right: D. Oorbiecht, which can be translated as The Confession. This refers to confession as one of the seven Catholic sacraments.
