Depicting "The Penitence of Saint-Jerome". To be dated to the middle of the 16th C., 1540-1560.

It's very unusual to have the central scene situated by a foreground and a background horizon, creating a double sense of perspective.

Provenance: The collection of Ole Olsen, founder of Nordisk Film, the oldest continuously active film studio in the world.
It is illustrated in Hermann Schmitz: Director Ole Olsen's Art collection. No. 1147. Fig. III.
The buyer of the dish will receive the original two-volume edition of the collection overview from 1924.
