A Siegburg schnelle by Hans Hilgers with the Lübeck coat of arms, dated 1591

Marked HH in every panel, for Hans Hilgers, active 1565 until 1595.

Of slightly tapering cylindrical form, applied with three identical panels with a studded band at either end, enclosing a figure flanked by scrolling foliage above a banner inscribed 'LVBICENSIS', the double-headed eagle and the date and a cartouche of John the Baptist  flanked by figures and 'HH', the contemporary pewter cover struck with three marks
