A large and impressive Brussels faience tureen with a lion fighting a dog, 1st half 18th C.

Condition: (UV-checked)
- The cover with the two upper legs of the dog restored, as well as the tip of the lion's tongue. The purple stem extending from the lower rear leg of the dog with the final section restored. A number of small losses and chips to the applied decoration. The restoration very well executed and quasi invisible to the naked eye. Given the delicate nature of the work, we would say it is in reasonable to good condition.
- The tureen with a small reglued rim chip on the inside, a ca. 3 x 1 cm rim chip next to one of the handles, two superficial rim chips next to the other handle and a number of small losses and chips to the applied decoration. Given the delicate nature of the work, we would say it is in good condition.

Provenance: The collection of a Belgian industrialist family, formed between ca. 1960 and 1980.
