The board marked H.V. above interlaced c's for Edmé Samson, Paris, late 19th C.

Condition: (UV-checked)
- The board in good condition, with a number of superficial baking flaws, some showing retouching.
- One of the blue and white knights with a negligible superficial glaze flake to the tip of the ear. The blue and white king with two reglued breaks. One of the blue and white rooks with three 1-2mm superficial glaze flakes on the top rim. One pawn with an oval tension line with a 2 x 2 mm section of glaze loss. The other pawns and none-mentioned pieces in excellent condition.
- One of the polychrome rooks with three 1-2mm superficial glaze flakes on the top rim and a 3 x 1 mm section of glaze loss on one side. One knight with a 1 mm glaze flake to the tip of one of the ears. One bishop with an 8 x 5 mm glaze flake on the shoulder. The king and queen both with a reglued break to the finial. One knight with a 1 mm glaze flake to the tips of both ears. One rook with a 2 x 2 mm chip to the top rim, and three further 1 mm glaze flakes. All pawns and none-mentioned pieces in excellent condition.
