Representing the element 'Earth', this teapot is part of a small group of wares which are all dated ca. 1740-1745.
They are designed after a series of paintings representing 'The Four Elements' by Francesco Albani (1578-1660) which were commissioned by Cardinal Maurice of Savoy and are now in the Turin Gallery.
Condition: (UV-checked)
- The cover broken in two pieces and then reglued, as well as a touch-up to the rim.
- The teapot in quasi excellent condition with a small superficial chip to the spout.
