A rare Chinese blue and white kraak porcelain plate with 'egret' mark, Wanli

- With a vertical baking crack visible across the center, otherwise in very good condition with a few 1-2 mm frits on the tips on the rim.

The egret (or stork) is the only mark to appear exclusively on Wanli Kraak wares. This mark always appears on better than average pieces, with well defined moulded designs and carefull painting. The cobalt is consistently deep blue with silvery shades . These characteristics, along with the rarity of wares bearing the 'egret' mark, indicate that this group of porcelain was made only in one particular kiln.
