A Chinese reticulated famille rose pomander, Yongzheng

This lot was sold on 2021-12-03 and is no longer available

H.: 7,5 cm

Pomanders were typically worn around the neck or suspended from the waist. Most pomanders have hinged compartments which open like segments of an orange; these were used to hold different fragrant herbs or flowers. This would probably have been suspended from a silk cord.
