Provenance:
- (by repute) Acquired in China before 1914 by a Belgian banker, thence by descent in the family to the current owner.

Condition: (UV-checked)
- One vase in excellent condition. Minor wear to the gilding on the top rim.
- The other with a very small superficial chip on the rim of ca. 3 x 2 mm. A further rim section slightly polished over a length of ca. 12 mm. Another small burst glaze bubble on the rim.
- Both stands with a visible crack in the central part.
