A complete and intact egg of Aepyornis maximus, the giant elephant bird, extinct in the 16th or 17th C. The egg intact, presented on a glass stand. Presented with a CT-Scan video report by authority Dr. Marc Ghysels, which shows the development of the bone structure was ended in an early state. This will also be offered to the buyer. The egg appears older than many other eggs having been on the market, and has a patina similar to that of the Irish Museum (www.museum.ie) Size: 30,8 cm tall, diameter 21,9 cm Provenance: The collection of the deceased German marine biologist Dr. Caspers
