Painted in blue with a Dutch three-master, inscribed Vertrouwen in a panel above and Pieter Pieters Eisen 1761 below. The border decorated with a floral band and cherub heads. Likely commissioned by a Dutch sea-captain named Pieter Pieters Eisen in or around 1761, visiting the port of Liverpool. Until now there was supposedly only one plate of this type known, but the surfacing of this plate is an indication that the captain commissioned a series of plates of this type, or possibly even a service.
