Probably made for the Straits or Peranakan market.

Provenance: Offered to Eduard Vincent Brenan, Esquire, etc..., Macao, by the staff from the Custom House, Lappa, Macao, dated 6th March, 1907.

Condition: (UV-checked)
- The silk with age related areas of discoloration as visible on the photos. A few small holes located between the two birds in the upper section and another hole just under an insect on the right hand central part. 
- The wooden frame and stand with normal superficial wear and minor age related tension lines. A few missing pieces of the mother-of-pearl inlay as visible on the photos.
- The left bottom lion with a small chip of the tip of the nose and one round foot missing on the underside.
