This bowl was made by order of the royal court and for palace use in Hue city. The base mark nhất 日, which translates to 'Sun' was exclusively used for the Vietnamese royals.
The word 日 is viewed as the royal insignia of the Nguyễn (阮) dynasty. The names of the Nguyễn kings all have the 日 root. 日 was, therefore, chosen to be the mark on royal utility porcelains of Nguyễn dynasty.
